5 Product Management Applications

by Andrew Manuel on January 4, 2010

One of my previous consulting projects involved the implementation of a product management software application. My tasks included pilot testing, program management, assessing needs of stakeholders and providing recommendations, documenting the process and user work flows, system administration of the application, and user training. It took around a year to get 200+ users in product management, program management, engineering, tech pubs, and QA to get on board, signed-up, trained and get them on their way to using the application.

So for the next 5 blogs, I will look into 5 product management applications taken from the 280 Group article regarding product management software.  The 5 are Accept Innovation Management Solutions, Accompa Requirements Management Tool, Ryma FeaturePlan and Ideascope, Orcanos Application Lifecycle Management, and IBM Rational Focal Point.  Each of these applications provide a wide variety of capabilities, so the objective of these writeups is to provide a summary for each with information taken from the product website, community resources, and available demos.
